Given that you can’t rely on the British weather even in the heart of summer, it’s fair to say that we were blessed on this fabulous February day.

I kicked off at “The Kenny” (The Kensington Arms in Redland) where the groomsmen enjoyed some good food and old-fashioned wedding banter.

Although Liz’s preparations at home with bridesmaid Mel went perfectly smoothly, my morning ended on a bum note when, in bending down to pick up my bag, my trousers split.  Thankfully, the split wasn’t too visible as although I’d covered a number of worse case scenarios, packing a spare pair of trousers wasn’t among the contingencies.  The tone was definitely raised by the arrival of Andy from De Gournay Cars who ensured that Liz arrived in style in a Rolls Royce Silver Shadow.

Liz and Pete were married at the sumptuous Lord Mayor’s Mansion in Clifton.  Although events are held there, I understand that the Lord Mayor does reside there most of the time (he didn’t choose to make an appearance).  After some photos in the grounds, the party moved on to The Clifton Club, its decadently high ceilings and a lot of fun.  You’ll get some idea of the atmosphere from the blog post, although some censorship was necessary in respect of a number of the later images…

Thanks to you both, it was great fun spending the day with you and your friends
